now on sale, to help fund our upcoming album recording project in July! Buy a copy and feel good about supporting art!

The 4-panel artwork by Vivian Naranjo is killer, and would go great as a centerpiece to a room. Or maybe as centerpieces to your upcoming wedding. They also work as excellent bookends, straightedges for drawing short straight lines, or a wonderfully eclectic backdrop for your upcoming photoshoot of your pet hamster Ramsey. Seriously though, there is something very powerful about Vivian's artwork that conveys what this music is all about. Support art. About

A group for collaborative projects.

Led by Tim Johnson, Music by Gestalt is a network of musicians that creates a continually expanding palette of sounds. An upcoming short film with prepared piano of clamps, erasures, and screws; an upcoming second album with piano, bass, drums, violin, tenor sax, and electronics; a first album of solely acoustic instruments of piano trio (listen in the above section); Music by Gestalt continues to grow so that it fits into the mold of a project's intended outcome.

Whether it be the past few short films, dance pieces, installations, and even an interactive lighting project called SPECTRUM; Music by Gestalt focuses on collaborative projects, as the parts contribute to a greater perceived whole. With two films underway (one of which is a 90 minute film), the “Breaking Down Series”on YouTube, our debut album “Music by Gestalt” released in February of 2019, and a second album–– inviting two additional instruments to the group –– on its way, Gestalt is rapidly becoming a niche-identity for collaborative projects in the LA music scene.
